Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

September 19, 2015

Few weeks before the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, I have found and discovered why the game’s has a growing community. The supply drops as battlefield levellers, fun with boxes, a surprising prequel plot twist, and making a female lead character are just among the attractions to any ageing gamer like me.Metal Gear Solid V:The Phantom Pain has been in my focus for the last one week.Frankly,I have to admit that it took me some time to explore the finer details of a game which has potential for crazy things to occur. Was delighted gamers can customise their own personal character and choose from one of three classes. If the gamer want sneaking around, the lightly armoured infiltrator class will quickly assist in navigating the map without a sound. Those who want to go in guns blazing,heavy-armored enforcer class will take plenty of punishment and dish out even more.Comm Control is one of the game mode and is a type of game that tasks one team with hacking a specific comm system on the map, while the opposing team fights to prevent it.The other mode is Cloak and Dagger, tasks one team with infiltrating an enemy base defended with real players who won’t hesitate to use deadly force. Third one is Bounty Hunter which works like a traditional team death-match mode but with a twist. When played, it racked up kills, a bounty is placed on their head that makes them worth more points and easier to pinpoint on the map.

One formidable enemy in particular, the super-sniper named Quiet, led to inventive players discovering an alternative way to end the altercation. Supply drops have such a high degree of accuracy that it’s actually possible to land them right on an enemy’s head. In doing so, they will be knocked health down without finishing them off for good and any lasting traumas are presumably taken care of by mother base’s medical elite. The cardboard box has become a lasting motif of the Metal Gear Solid” series, and players have been experimenting with its legendary capabilities in MGSV: TPP. Some of those include using the box as a sand dune sled, creating a terrifying local legend, and completely fooling enemy soldiers with swimwear model decals. Plenty has been said about women’s representation in the two Metal Gear Solid V games, the fate of child soldier Paz and Quiet’s unclothed appearance of particular note. As Contador Harrison I believe female agent playing is a possibility that bodes well for a large proportion of the male-oriented game because it hinges on rescuing and recruiting female captives during a prisoner extraction side operation. In the game, once one’s been assigned to the home base combat team, she can then replace military vet Snake on missions and she won’t have his bionic arm, but any other differences are said to be minor. Most astonishing for me was not just the happy ending for a tragically abused character, but that it was tucked away well inside an unassuming medical bay, a place few would ever think to look.

If the enemy team can manage to Fulton extract the player with the bounty, they’ll score big points.Metal Gear Online(official video above) supports 16 players and will be released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on Oct. 6. A PC release for Metal Gear Online is scheduled to release sometime in 2016 but it has been confirmed that there will be a cost involved for console versions.Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has some multiplayer elements in the form of the game’s Forward Operating Base system. However, come next month the game will be getting a full-fledged online multiplayer component. Metal Gear Online, the mode will be a free update for those who own Metal Gear Solid V.One major change to the MGS formula is that The Phantom Pain makes story content optional.Instead of sitting through hours of compulsory cutscenes, gamers can now find and listen to story-expanding cassette tapes, or disregard them utterly. With players encouraged but not required to tackle each mission and side-operation as stealthily as possible, long-range standoffs can become lengthy affairs. I also learned that enemies won’t hesitate to use lethal force, but there’s a payoff for players in search of a less final outcome: immobilised enemies and any number of animals or other objects can be whisked off to home base via a Fulton Recovery Device.
