As one of those avid basketball fans around the world and specifically an ancient Los Angeles Lakers die hard, we are in for a big treat as Basketball’s finest league will once again bring the best basketball viewing experience in my sofa from the New Orleans. The 2014 NBA All Star Game will be the 63rd edition. Since the beginning of season I have watched players who’ve impressed during the 2013-14 National Basketball Association season that began on October 29th last year. We all know LeBron James is in a class of his own but I must say Kevin Wayne Durant who plies his trade with Oklahoma City Thunder has been the most impressive. The manner he destroyed my team Los Angeles Lakers the other day is testimony of his talent.  NBA All-Star Game is all about star power. For Western Conference All-Stars named starters has Stephen Curry, Kobe Bryant,Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love while reserves has Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, Tony Parker, James Harden, Dirk Nowitzki, Dwight Howard and LaMarcus Aldridge. The Eastern Conference All-Stars starting team will include Dwayne Wade,Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony with the reserve list including John Wall, Joe Johnson, DeMar DeRozan, Chris Bosh, Roy Hibbert, Joakim Noah, Paul Millsap. Basketball aficionados like me will definitely be eager to watch the biggest names battle it although its largely an exhibition match.

It’s a chance for us fans to witness our favorite players, all on the court at the same time to light up the scoreboard and exhibit their rare talent. There will also be a chance for the next generation of superstars to take to the stage and try their level best to steal the limelight as the experience is still alien to them. The upcoming NBA stars will have to prove that they belong to the class of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant of this world. Since late eighties when I started watching All stars matches, my support has firmly been on western conference and that would be the same case tonight. My friend Daniel Hursey from Florida who happens to be a staunch Miami Heat fan has already started taunting me on Twitter. This time round unlike the NBA championship where his favorite team triumphed he will have to take defeat.Below is what he posted on twitter after Eastern conference defeated western conference in dunk contest a few hours ago.Alice Ngambi, a close friend living in US whose affection to Miami Heat made me nickname her First Lady of Heat Nation was equally firm with her prediction on a tweet to me reiterating her overconfidence that Eastern conference will defeat Western conference stars this time round. daniel hursey ‏‪@Dthrills217 4h @alizwan ‪@contadoharrison team bosh just beat durant i mean DUR CANT  mvp my butt … sit down kevin you use to losing to the heat ALL STAR .Alice ‏‪@alizwan Feb 15‪@contadoharrison ‪@Dthrills217 East it is!I want to tell Alice Ngambi and Daniel Hursey luck is blind and it can’t see where it’s going and keeps running into and the people it knocks into we call lucky but not in Basketball where talent and skills determine winners. Well, best wishes to Eastern conference with luck if it’s like that, I say!
